NEW RELEASE: “La Niña de los Fósforos (The Little Match Girl)”

It’s finally out!

After countless hours of tireless work todolaMEDIA is proud to present “La Niña de los Fósforos” the first full short film released by todolaMEDIA. And you can watch it starting now!

“La Niña de los Fósforos” is a re-telling of the classical story by Hans Christian Andersen which tells the tale of a small girl on the streets trying to sell her matches. In this adaptation the entire story has been lovingly recreated and redrawn in acrylic paints onto three panes of glass before being captured and put into animation.

Utilising a combination of rotoscoping and more traditional animation “La Niña de los Fósforos” seeks to be a faithful and visually compelling adaptation of an old classic.

Thanks/Credits

This production would not have been possible alone however. In fact without the help of these following people the short film would have almost certainly failed before it even reached the end of production. Please be sure to give much love to the following people who helped me.

Vince Ring: Great cinematographer who helped with filming the live-action sequences for rotoscoping.

David Taylor: Fantastic director/editor who helped with filming and also acted as a character model.

Avery Hammie: Phenomenal musician and friend who mastered the audio for my narration.

Elliot Rowe: Incredible stop-motion expert who helped with camera/lighting setup and gave general production advice and support.

Aaron Owen: Amazing technical demonstrator and photographer who helped with camera/lighting setup.

Paulina Majda: Wonderful lecturer who also helped with camera/lighting setup. (There were a lot of troubles with the booth especially when using glass!)

Tim Pattinson: Immensely talented, patient and understanding course leader who supported me through all of the troubles I had through production.

James Middle: Talented cinematographer who put me in contact with Vince and David along with being a generally supportive friend throughout production.

Updates

As some of you may be aware there was supposed to be an additional two pieces of content elaborating on the behind-the-scenes of this production. Unfortunately as it stands these are not quite ready for release. While future updates will elaborate on their release dates, nothing can yet be confirmed. Make sure to check back here often or follow todolaMEDIA on social media to find out more!

Have a wonderful day,

Reece Morgado, todolaMEDIA
